Patterns tend not to diversify themselves through the ages and as much as autumn turns into winter, and winter into spring there are certain patterns amongst families that do not change from generation to generation for example the same job role can be found in certain families with their being generations of miners for example spanning back not just decades but centuries.
Peter Scrungeworthy owned a factory that made pine furniture, specializing in pine wardrobes. His parents owned it before him and his grandparents before them. The people that worked in the factory, had worked there since leaving school, and in a lot of cases their parents and grand parents had worked there as well. the furniture that was made today, was much the same as it was 100 years ago. The finishes and stains were new and up to date.
The previous owners of the factory had been far more lapse then Peter who ran his business as a very tight ship, he always had one eye on the money and his workers had to make supplies last, Peter did this by making them come to him directly to ask for things like sandpaper and panel pins which were kept locked next to his office, only he had access to this room and the workers knew it would go against them if they asked for access or used supplies up to quickly.
Peter worked the factory hard especially his disgruntled foreman Steve, in turn Steve drove the workers hard and ensured results were obtained just to get Peter off his back, targets were high and with lots of hard work just obtainable and with a low basic wage the employees had no choice but to comply. Each afternoon Peter had great pleasure counting the profits that he had made.
After counting the money he would always fall asleep. This day he woke quickly when he realized he had left his money behind, in his office. He had never ran so fast as he did then. When he reached the office,he was greeted by strange sounds from inside, they were the sounds,of lovers, and he could not open the door. It was clearly the sound of Polly and Steve the foreman, they had moved a farmhouse table against the door. Peter banged and shouted, and finally charged the door,at that moment Polly opened the door, the miser could not stop he was through the office and straight out the window, diving into the duck pond below.Angry he was but on his way through the office he had manage to grab his wallet
