There are only a handful of actors who can appear in multiple comedies, often in the same year, without becoming irritating or having their act become old and unfunny. In my opinion, Owen Wilson is one of those actors. Regardless of the film in which he stars, he is always charming and usually hilarious.
Here are what I consider to be Owen Wilson's top five movies of his career.
One film that I would definitely have to include on this list is Behind Enemy Lines. This is certainly different than the majority of Wilson's films, which might be why I like it so much.
Another film that I thoroughly enjoyed was The Darjeeling Limited. This film was directed by the incredibly talented director Wes Anderson, who had worked with Wilson in the past. This film stars Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman and Adrien Brody.
It would pain me to make a list of Owen Wilson movies without mentioning Wedding Crashers. This film is easily one of my favorite comedies in recent memory and the duo of Wilson and Vince Vaughn is pure comedic gold.
Wes Anderson happens to direct many of Owen Wilson's best movies. One of my favorites is The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, a movie about an underwater explorer and his team who are hunting down a legendary shark.
One other movie that I absolutely loved was Meet The Parents. Wilson actually plays Pam Byrnes' successful ex-boyfriend, who is a threat to Ben Stiller's character. He also reprises this role in the second installment of the franchise, Meet The Fockers.
As it stands, these are my favorite Owen Wilson movies up to this point in his career.
