The Best Digital Point and Shoot Camera Review

By Viviahn Seyz

A great point and shoot camera for travel in the outdoors, or other sport hobbies: You will need to sort through bad pocket size cameras to get to the one you want. No camera company, no matter how good, gets it right all the time. But improvements are being made. There are many things that makers need to consider and sometimes, comprises and sacrifices need to be made. There are many reviews and other reading available if you are interested in getting a digital pocket size camera. Before buying anything, read the following reviews on some selections that may be of interest.

Indoors or in your garden: The Canon PowerShot S90 is terrific for those who favor high quality images taken indoors without using a flash. Many camera makers create lines that focus on one specific point or application of the camera. With its wide angle lens and ability to capture subtle details, the S90 performs well in conditions with little light. You'll be able to use the large display for picture viewing which is something a lot of people seem to like.

Good for sports: This camera is also great for people who like to have more control over their photographic compositions. This camera allows you to manually control things such as aperture, sensitivity, and shutter speed. This camera is a great choice for this reason as well as its easy to use interface.

Next up is the Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 which has been truly built for the outdoors.

The camera you can count on, almost spiritually or religiously: Because it can withstand going just beyond 30 feet underwater, this is a waterproof camera. This rugged and tough camera certainly lives up to its name. With a standard LCD display, zoom, and built in flash, the 14 megapixel resolution of this camera is overkill in our opinion. But the market for this camera could very well be those who love the rugged outdoors and want a camera that can take a little punishment from the elements. This camera is designed to survive a six foot drop as well as being waterproof. In addition to this, it is also supposed to be freeze and crush proof. This is one tough little camera!

Being named the best is not a marketing ploy: The PowerShot SD750 is included in the reviews because it's such an outstanding pocket size camera. You'll find a solid digital camera that includes greater than average movie quality plus face detection, of course. Photographs produced by this camera represent high ISO quality. There is no better choice for a digital camera when it comes to an ultra-compact design and large LCD screen. There is a market for the features included in this camera, and those are the people who love taking "snap shots" and don't care so much for using an optical viewfinder. This particular LCD screen is 3 inches and may not be as clean or crisp as other screens but is easy to see in the sun. And there are a few of the lower end pocket size cameras. These cameras would work well to test out if you've never used a digital ultra compact camera. They are priced very reasonably and do provide decent enough picture quality.
