'The Social Network' Movie Featured Tons Cool Drama

By Kevin Smith

"The Social Network" drama movie recently got released into theaters a couple months ago by Columbia Pictures, and I totally agree with the pro film critic's perfect positive assessment of this movie. It delivered cool,drama-filled,informative scenes about the actual story of Facebook's origin. The flick stars: Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield, Joe Mazzello, and Rashida Jones.

The flick centered around the amazing true life story of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, along with numerous people he worked with in the beginning days at Harvard University. It follows how Mark built a popular website before Facebook that generated 22,000 hits in 2 hours. It was a fun site that let people rate which lady was the best looking out of two choices.

However, his problem with this,is that he hacked all the pictures from the College's database, and got put on academic probation for doing it. It was a pretty interesting story. Eventually, Mark had a meeting some college students that were impressed with his work, and they wanted his help on a project they had about a social networking website that would be restricted only to Harvard students. Mark thought the idea was good and agreed to help them out. They wanted to call it "The Harvard Connection."

However,Mark ends up deciding to launch his own version of the social network idea, calling it "The Facebook." Mark partnered with his best friend and co-founder Eduardo Saverin (Garfield). Eduardo provided the money for the Facebook project, and Mark did all the very technical coding that makes Facebook actually work.

They eventually met up with Sean Parker (Timberlake) who helped expand Facebook into a business, and also got Mark to drop the "The" and just make it "Facebook," claiming it would be cleaner. After that, conflicts eventually arose as Eduardo got shoved into the background and eventually out of the company.

The twin Harvard students who approached Mark with the "Harvard Connection" idea, filed a lawsuit against him, saying that he stole their idea. Eduardo also filed a lawsuit against Mark. The film featured that aspect in extensive detail, and it featured some very interesting drama. I really thought movie was great. It was very intriguing to learn how much drama went down during the early stages of Facebook.

Justin Timberlake did a great job as Sean Parker in my opinion. I thought Jesse Eisenberg played Mark Zuckerberg's role good as well. I also liked the performance from the new Spider-Man franchise actor Andrew Garcia as character Eduardo Saverin. It was the first time I saw Andrew act in a movie. The film got a perfect A grade from me.
