Having Fun - Going To The Party In High Spirits

By Walter B. Hernandez

The baby is blue in the face from screaming, the dog will not stop hounding you (no pun intended), and you need space to think and all this before your home party. That's right, you've coached the party hostess and there's a whole bunch of people coming. So help me god, is there any tranquilizer to help you get through this situation!

Hold your horses! You do not want to walk into your own home party looking stressed and out of sorts, do you know? So, what must you do in a situation like this? Follow these tried and tested pre-party suggestions to get you there in the best of shape.

1. Your hostess must have given you directions so do not forget to recheck them and confirm the location of your destination online. And as an added precaution, also print out the reverse directions so that you get home easily.

2. A great way to cut down on a lot of the last minute rushing around and stress is to pack and double-check your kit the night before or the morning of your show. This way you will be a lot more relaxed.

3. "What would be the perfect knock to the death outfit for tonight?" Do not make that a regular question. Throw together a couple of standard party-appropriate outfits that you can wear to any party and keep rotating them for different events.

4. If you are a mother then cook two days' worth of meals on nights when you are not out working. Ask your spouse and/or oldest child to help out with the departure rush before you leave. If babysitters are needed for the kids then take the time to find at least two reliable sitters, because you never know when you might need to call for backup.

5. Pump it up! Throw in a CD of whichever tunes get you up and rocking so that you can forget the day's stresses on the way and arrive at the party refreshed and ready to mingle. A lot of people love to lose all their worries in their favorite type of music.

These pre-party preparations are to prep you up so get there with a great attitude and a big smile. This will double the guests' enjoyment and will undoubtedly make the home party an event to remember.
