'The Mechanic' Film Delivered Awesome Action With Jason Statham

By Mike Stack

CBS recently released their new, action flick "The Mechanic" into theaters. I just checked it out,and thought it was very good. It moved at a reasonably fast pace as all Jason Statham movies usually do,and it delivered a ton of good killing action, and more. The film stars: Jason Statham, Ben Foster, Donald Sutherland, and Christa Campbell.

The film revolved around character Arthur. Arthur is known as a mechanic. He's a highly trained assassin. He gets hired to murder people who are shady,or have been involved in crooked business dealings. He's given records and photos of the people he's sent to kill. He kills them in very creative ways. They are ways that can't be linked back to him or the people who have hired him.

Everything appears to be going fine for Bishop in his career as he's one of the best in his business, but things take a turn for the worst when his mentor Harry McKenna (Donald Sutherland) shows up on the kill list. Arthur asks for a meeting with the main boss to get more info, and is told if he doesn't do it,someone else will because Harry has been accused of tipping people off about their assassination jobs.

Arthur eventually completes the assignment of killing Harry. After that,Harry's son Steve McKenna arrives on the scene, and ends up asking Arthur to teach him how to be a mechanic killer. He teaches him a few things, and they eventually do a couple of assignments together, but the best assignment is yet to come.

Arthur eventually finds out that the killing job he did on Harry was part of a conspiracy by his boss. From that point, Arthur has revenge on his mind, and Steve comes along for the ride to get vengeance for Harry's death. I won't give the whole ending away, but lets just say that Steve ends up finding out that Arthur was the one who actually killed his father.

This fact causes a big twist to occur towards the end, which involves lots of guns being fired, wild car chases that cause tons of damage, and huge explosions. Also, you should like the ending scene because Arthur pulls off a pretty clever stunt. For a film that's filled with such ugly violence,it's plays out quite beautifully.

Jason Statham did an excellent job playing the cool, calm, and collective action man who really kicks butt. The film never had a boring moment in it. It moved along at pretty good pace. I gave it an A rating.
