Paying college Costs In Unusual And Different Ways.

By Carl Drotsky

It seems that people are becoming very nervous about paying College fees. In a craigslist's classified advertisement an alarmed parent offered his living and not dead body to science in order to pay his child's student loans of a quarter million dollars. It is a very extreme step to take, but it proves that people will use unconventional and unusual ways to pay for college education. Students do not only experience excessive tuition fees, but also insufficient financial aid. Nowadays it is not as simple as getting a part time job at the library to be able to make ends meet. It is no wonder that the alarmed father offered his body to science. Students and parents have to become more creative and will have to experiment with new business concepts to solve money problems.

Considering all the costs, it is clear why it takes a lot of planning and effort to pay for college education. The costs of colleges are rising and have increased by 5 %. Although students can apply for scholarships, there is an amount of four billion dollar which has to be shared among all the applicants of the entire country. Payments from these scholarships amount to more or less $3000 so that a larger group of students can benefit from the available money. States are so broke and that is why they set higher standards in order to limit the amount of students that apply successfully for scholarships. Yet, students are truly sensible and dependent when managing their money and paying tuition fees. Three out of four students make a substantial effort to pay their student loans themselves.

There are several methods from which a student can choose to earn an income. Something like helping out at charitable organizations can not only pay well, but the student might also obtain a scholarship. AmeriCorps is a network with three thousand nonprofit organizations and religious foundations that can offer a student work. By working for 1500 hours a student can earn more or less twelve thousand dollars. Furthermore, a student can earn a scholarship worth five thousand dollars for doing social work. A student must be creative enough to take advantage of all these social work-related scholarships. Such a student might even get a scholarship at Syracuse University and Duke University. These universities have special scholarships for those who sign up to AmeriCorps.

It is difficult to find a position in a town, especially if a student is new to a town. Fortunately most colleges have a career services department and a job board. Students will undertake any kind of opportunity to earn money. They will hand out pamphlets, waiter at restaurants and take part in medical experiments. The brainy student will venture into a new business enterprise, like starting a new commercial website. Some of these students are shrewd and calculating in their new business ideas. At many different universities there are successful designated driver companies where the designated driver will take an intoxicated student home after a party. Setting up a business is not an idea that every student will consider.

International economic challenges force students to find additional ways of generating an income. Not only will they be working constructively toward a brighter successful future, but they will also assist their parents who have to make ends meet. A student with a hunger after success will consider the many job possibilities and taste success eventually.
