Rumors About A PlayStation 4 Release Date

By Dennis Paker

Rumors have been flying around the Internet regarding the PlayStation 4 release date. However; Sony's deputy president has announced that the new console will not be unveiled this year. Reliable sources have indicated that games are currently being developed for the new console, if this is the case then there must be a prototype model at Sony HQ! With the P3 getting rather old now, gaming fans are very eager to see a new console, and Sony must surely be keeping an eye on Microsoft's development of a new Xbox.

One thing for certain is that the PlayStation 4 will support 3D gaming, because Sony have announced a 3D gaming monitor complete with 3D glasses. This is very exciting indeed! It will be exciting to see exactly what else the new console will be capable of.

Another rumor that is doing the rounds is that the P4 will be the last of the Playstation consoles. This is due to the development of cloud computing, where applications and resources run from a server rather than a console or computer. Cloud gaming is going to become be the future of games, and it would be incredibly powerful. Especially with multi-player gaming.

Gaming without a console will certainly be cheaper; apart from the need of a 3D monitor in order to play 3D games. There are also 3D headsets in development, which are called SmartGoggles. This will be an amazing advance in virtual reality!

Gaming will probably become subscription based or pay as you go, but it would allow for more people to get involved in gaming. Gamers may also be able to get involved in game development and the creation of a virtual universe.

For now the P4 looks to be an exciting update to the P3, with a lot of new capabilities. The console will probably continue to use Blu Ray disks. Motion sensor technology is also likely to be incorporated in the console; similar to the technology used by the Wii, but it is likely to be even more advanced.

Whatever the P4's features and capabilities are, it will likely be an incredibly powerful games console. It will have awesome graphics, 3D capabilities, amazing sound and a lot more. In the meantime the P3 still has incredible games made for it, but it is getting rather long in the tooth and gaming technology has now moved on. Keep a look out for new announcements as they come in on the Internet regarding the PlayStation 4 release date.
