I Have Devised An Awesome Plan For My Funny Irish Shirts

Who's going to go out and blow the roof off of some parties this Saint Patrick's Day? I know I am, and that has nothing to do with me being a borderline alcoholic. I think it has more to do with me wanting to celebrate my Irish heritage in the biggest, craziest way possible. I am going to hit every bar I know of, and wear a different funny Irish t-shirt at each of them.

My first stop is going to have to be one of those carpet restaurants that people seem to like so much. A man has got to eat, after all, especially if he plans on putting enough green beer in his stomach to kill a baby water buffalo. The shirt I've picked out for my first, most tame, spot is one of the funny Irish t-shirts that has the words "Dublin Your Pleasure" on it. That should be funny enough to get some smiles, but tame enough to let me drink and eat in peace.

I will then head to a bar to meet up with all of my drinking buddies. We'll be doing a proper pub crawl later, but we'll all meet at a neighborhood bar that's convenient for everyone. I can say right now that I won't be drinking any hard liquor this early in the evening, but we both know what a lie that is. This is probably the best time to wear my awesome "Fear The Irish" tee, since no one will be drunk enough to pick a fight with me because of it.

We will probably go to a couple of authentic Irish pubs, and I plan on wearing some authentically awesome funny Irish tee shirts to each of them. I won't be wearing anything even remotely distasteful to these places. I know my Irish brethren, and there is no way I want to instigate a fight by offending someone's cultural pride. I will wear a great shirt of mine that says, "Tis a Blessing to Be Irish."

After drinking all night and doing it well, it probably would be best for me to catch a cab and go somewhere out of the public eye. I can be a pretty great and functional drunk, but I can also be a sloppy mess if I'm not careful. This is why I'll be going to my party back-up plan, which is a Shamrock Party at a friend's house. That way, I can where whatever funny Irish tee shirts of mine don't have bodily fluids on them and I can pass out in peace.

It's not as if I drink this heavily all year long. Saint Patrick's Day is a special day for me, and I celebrate my heritage loudly and proudly. Some people have told me in the past that partying like I do on St. Patrick's Day only feeds the misconceptions of ignorant people. Honestly, I don't care what people think. I am going to have a good time and raise a toast to my ancestors. Many of them living in turmoil and pain so that I could live the way I do today, so I owe it to them to have a good time...and so do you!

The Christmas Office Party Will Never Be The Same

Who doesn't love a good office party, am I right? I noticed some of you didn't raise your hands...and for good reason. Alcohol, dancing, making fun of awkward people, and some terrible mistakes are all good reasons to dodge out on going to the office Christmas party. Then again, those reasons also happen to be why going to the office Christmas party can be so much fun. It's a "glass-half-full" way of looking at things that make me do bad things, I think...like wear shamefully offensive Holiday t-shirts to said parties.

It all started when I went out to have a few drinks with my close office pals. We had some drinks, slapped some hi-five's, and then did some shots of tequila. As soon as tequila enters the equation, I got a little wild. After skipping the first two Christmas parties, my buddies demanded that I come to that year's. According to them, it was full of a bunch of people too afraid to have a good time. It needed someone to show everyone it was okay to act like a fool...and in my drunken state, I happily agreed.

I am a man of my word, even though I had to be reminded that I had done it. I bought a hilariously inappropriate Christmas tee to help me get motivated. It was a joke about mistletoe and how I was pretty open to where the ladies wanted to kiss me. I admit that I let myself go a bit and drank a little too heavily. There may, or may not, have been an instance late into the party in which I made out with my very attractive, older boss-lady. I was in horror the next day because something like that could ruin a guy's career.

It was a whole year of people making jokes about what happened during that one, fateful party. My wild side did not exactly match up well with my normal demeanor, and people took great pleasure in making me turn beet red by mentioning my exploits. A year came and went and it was time for another Christmas party. I was going to wear a simple shirt and maybe some silly antlers, or something. Instead, my friends came over to my house and got me drunk. I ended up wear an obscene Christmas tee that they brought for me and the whole debacle from the previous year was played out all over again at that year's Christmas shindig. Hooray for my weak willpower.

I am the undisputed champ when it comes to our office's annual Christmas party. I would like to blame alcohol and some stupid Christmas shirt that's way too vulgar, but I can't. The only person I can blame its myself. I have another Christmas party coming in just a short while. I have already bought this year's raunchy Christmas shirt and I have a bottle of high-end tequila in my freezer with a bow around it. Sometimes you have to give the public what it wants, right?

Obamacare as a Zombie Assistance Law

I wanted to try and describe a topic while taking away some of the political stigma associated with it. I also wanted to have some fun, and this seems like fun. You may be able to tell what I am talking about before the article is finished, but bear with me please.

Assume that the United States has been afflicted with a zombie uprising for the past 30 years. It's not widespread, but they appear every week in varies neighborhoods and towns. Many corporations and large employers have provided sharp-shooter teams to respond to their employee's location in the event of an attack to "take care of" the zombies. Some citizens have purchased guns on their own to protect themselves, but some people can't afford to buy a gun because guns have become very expensive.

President Reagan pushed Congress to pass a law in the 1980's that sent Federally funded sharp-shooters out to aid people that were unexpectedly attacked and that did not have a gun on hand. The bill was passed because everyone believed it fell under their powers to spend for the "general welfare" of U.S. citizens, and these zombie attacks were a major problem.

The Federal costs of having to aid citizens in these zombie attacks amounts to a couple hundred dollars per visit, but can cost thousands for large zombie herds. A subsequent President decided to pass a law that forced people to own a basic handgun to cut down on the government's trips to aid people in these zombie attacks. This handgun was produced by all of the main gun manufacturers, and they offered it at a low price because the more they produced the cheaper it became to make them. They just required a certain amount of guns to be purchased each year to keep their production costs down. However, the government knew that it couldn't force a citizen to make a purchase, and it saw that it could influence the citizen's decision by imposing a tax if they decided not buy a gun. This tax also served to cover any costs of having to come out to kill the zombie. The tax was a fraction of the gun's price, but still significant. (You all know what we are talking about right?)

Pundits argued over whether this was a lawful use of taxpayer funds, and whether the government could force a citizen to buy a gun; whether this was a massive government intervention into the lives of the citizens; whether this should be state funded; and whether this would cost the government more or less money in the long run.

Now assume that the zombies are illnesses and that the guns are health insurance policies. Yes, this is the Affordable Healthcare Act in a zombie attack analogy. Your opinion may not change regardless, but maybe it helped to take some of the politicized preconceptions out of the debate.
